The body has millions of motion sensors on the skin which help feed our nervous system information regarding where our body parts are in space vis-a-vis other body parts. This is called proprioception. Imagine wearing a skin tight shirt—you would be able to feel more of your movements and be more conscious about how you move. This, in essence, is what kinesiotaping can provide in retraining movement patterns to alleviate repetitive motion injuries.
